Raleigh, NC, November 22, 2010 Elster Solutions Selected by North Carolina Technology Association as Industry-driven Technology Company of the Year

Elster (NYSE: ELT) announced today that Elster Solutions was named the Industry-driven Technology Company of the year by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) as part of their NCTA 21 Awards. Additionally, Mark Munday, president and CEO of Elster Solutions, was selected as Tech Exec of the Year.

The prestigious NCTA 21 Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in North Carolina. The annual showcase honors companies and individuals in 21 categories who represent the best and brightest in technology and business.

“Elster Solutions represents the best that the North Carolina technology industry has to offer, and their president and CEO Mark Munday has distinguished himself as a superb leader of this company,” said Brooks Raiford, president and CEO of NCTA.

“We are proud to recognize Elster Solutions as NCTA’s Industry-drive technology company of the year, as well as Mr. Munday as the winner of Tech Exec of the Year,” Raidford added.

With its U.S headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, Elster is a leading global Smart Grid technology serving utility customers across gas, electricity and water with innovatinve metering and Smart Grid solutions which can conserve financial and environmental resources.. Mark Munday has been awarded 31 patents, including patents for innovations in time-of-use metering (demand profile and calendar of cyclic events), tamper detection, service detection, power quality monitoring systems and programmable functions. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in Raleigh and completed post-graduate and business training courses at NCSU, Wharton Executive School and Fuqua School of Business at Duke.
